Easter in Tennessee

Kim and I had a great 38 hours over the weekend!  We started off leaving Ontario airport on Friday afternoon and landed in Nashville around 11PM.  After getting some great (actually lousy) service at the DOLLAR rentacar (full body cavity search and blood test were optional), we were off to Buchanan (Paris) Tennessee. We arrived at 1:30am and we were up at 7ish in the morning to the noise of two awesome grandkids! We started our day with a great breakfast and then it was time to play cars and then go see the new house the kids are building.  NICE PLACE!  After a great lunch, we rode the three-wheeler around and Jaxon was able to ride by himself (in first gear).  But, first gear goes pretty fast, he was so cute with a huge motorcycle helmet on his head. So after a few talks from Dad, he slowed down (just a little).  He gave Mema and Gramps a ride - you can see one of Mema's thrill rides here -

We had dinner at a place called the Olive Pit (short for the Pitifully short of salmon and lasagna - which is only served on Monday).  We had some laughs....and a decent meal, with what little they had left on the menu!

Sunday was church and a great lesson on guardrails!  Then, we were off to Easter lunch, which was awesome, and the Tennessee version of the Easter egg hunt!  On a huge 'lawn' Jaxon and his cousin Nate went crazy finding eggs, while Kazen had to open each plastic egg he found and examine what was inside!  What a crack up!

We finished off the day with an Easter tradition by shooting guns!   A 9mm, AK47 and 12-guage were shot by all of us.  Funny story after that at the security checkpoint with the TSA agents.....just kidding!  Kim and I then left for our 2-hour drive back to the airport.  After having to switch planes at Nashville to another Southwest flight so we could beat the weather delay in Denver, we made our way to Las Vegas and then Ontario, landing at midnight.

What a great weekend....all 38 hours of it!  We are now trying to catch up on some missing sleep!
